A client engaged Seva to develop a patent-pending solution to facilitate third-party administration of transactions for commodity exchanges. Requirements included the capacity to establish trade limits for member exchanges and the need to track individual transactions against established trade limits. Also required was the ability to communicate electronically with settlement banks for transaction processing. Web-based reporting capabilities were also needed to allow client administrators to monitor the activity of exchanges and individual exchange members.
Seva provided full life cycle services to deliver a database driven website that met the clients requirements. Utilizing a XML interface with a custom Java parser, the site receives credit applications and returns credit scores for potential members of online commodity exchanges. The application also utilizes the same custom XML/Java interface to receive trades from exchanges and track transactions against established limits. The system has the capability to download transactions for forwarding to a settlement bank for processing. Crystal Reports was implemented and reports were developed to enable administrators to monitor both member and exchange performance.
