Arbitron, an international media and marketing research firm with more than 700 employees and several locations, had experienced rapid growth due to increased business and acquisition. Internal communication needed to improve to keep pace with this growth. Arbitron’s Internet Services group recognized a need for a quick, cost effective intranet. Arbitron retained Seva to implement the SevaCM solution for content management and as a secure, internal portal. The site gave employees access to thousands of company and departmental sources of content.
Seva provided full life cycle services for the installation and customization of the SevaCM content management and portal toolset. Seva worked closely with Arbitron management to define the key requirements of the intranet. Seva then implemented a prototype intranet in a matter of days using the SevaCM toolset. This prototype served as the starting point for the intranet that was eventually implemented. Seva conducted several requirement and design sessions with departmental representatives, worked with Arbitron management to prioritize required enhancements, provided application development services, and then coordinated the implementation of the application and the population of the site with content. The site was successfully delivered for a fraction of the cost of other content management solutions and in a very short timeframe.
